Magnification of the adrenal gland, zona fasciculata. A cortical epithelial cell is expanded by a large protozoal cyst. Within the cyst are multiple basophilic (blue) zoites, 2–3 μm in diameter. Arrows indicate intra- and extracellular aggregates of T. gondii.

A new article from our team:Toxoplasma gondii has been described in several marine mammals around the world including numerous species of cetaceans, yet infection and transmission mechanisms in the marine environment are not clearly defined.
